This MIZUNO jacket predates the PUMA boom by a generation. The orange is not the orange of trend — it is the orange of function, of gymnasium floors and morning practice, of a time when sportswear had no ambition beyond its purpose. The high collar stands without apology.
The zipper slider, caught in extreme close-up, reveals the hardware beneath the surface. PUMA layered over MIZUNO — the recent past draped over the older past, two generations of sportswear compressed onto one body. The collar pulled to cover the mouth.
The portrait works because she is genuinely beautiful in it. The archive works because something else is also happening. Both are true. Neither cancels the other.
